A Five Days Short-term Training Programme is inaugurated at College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren, Nagaland on “Use of Advanced Diagnostic Techniques for Animal Disease Investigation” organized by the Department of Veterinary Medicine on 7th of March’ 2022. The training programme is organized as part of the Skill Development Training for the field veterinarians of line Department. A total of 7 Veterinary officers from different district of Nagaland have participated in the Training programme.
Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Central Agricultural University, Imphal, extended a hearty welcome to all the participants attending the training programme and wished the programme a great success and hoped this 5-days training will be helpful for the field veterinarians. Dr. D.J. Rajkhowa, Joint Director, ICAR, Regional Complex for NEH Region, Nagaland Centre graced the inaugural function as Chief Guest and congratulated the organizer for organizing such programme which will benefit the field veterinarian to update their knowledge on better disease diagnosis through advanced diagnostic techniques. He also reiterated on different aspects of animal production and their integration with agriculture production system.
Dean, College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren, Nagaland, Prof. A.K. Sangwan has emphasized that training programme like this are the need of the hour and will provide the platform for the field veterinarian to learn and update their understanding of these techniques. He also mentioned that besides animal production, animal health issues are also need to be addressed.
Dr. Gunjan Das, Assoc. Professor and Head, Dept. of Veterinary Medicine and Training Coordinator, has given the welcomed address and spoke about the importance of animal disease diagnosis by employing advance techniques viz. Ultrasonography, electrocardiography, Echocardiography, Polymerase chain reaction, ELISA and use of other clinical appliances.
