ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig celebrates World Food Day

The ICAR-National Research Centre on Pig, Guwahati, Assam celebrated the World Food Day today. The ITMU and ABI Units of the Centre jointly organized a Webinar along with the virtual Contest on the preparation of pork dishes during the occasion.

In his address, Dr. Swaraj Rajkhowa, Director, ICAR-NRC on Pig, Rani, Guwahati, Assam outlined about over 25 entries received for the contest from across the country having uniqueness with regard to ingredients used, processing methods followed and culinary practices. He also urged the participants to “Think healthy, Eat Healthy and Stay Healthy”.

Earlier, delivering the welcome address, Dr. Paranb Jyoti Das, In-Charge, ITMU Unit, ICAR-NRC on Pig, Guwahati, Assam urged for upholding the tenets of food safety in daily life. The participants were also felicitated with certificates and Cash Prizes during the virtual contest.

Over 45 participants participated in the Webinar and the Contest.
