Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister, Mr. Jai Prakash Dalal said that on the lines of Indo-Israeli technique, an outstanding Horticulture Centre will be built-in village Gignau of Bhiwani district to encourage farmers to focus on horticulture, flowers and vegetables instead of traditional farming. The Centre will provide a subsidy of 50 percent to the farmers for growing good quality plants. Apart from this, Regional Centres of Chaudhary Charan Singh (CCS) Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar (HAU) and Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar (LUVAS) will also be opened in Bhiwani.

Mr. Dalal said that the HAU Regional Centre which will open in Bhiwani will directly benefit the farmers of the area while opening of LUVAS Regional Centre will uplift animal husbandry in the area.

He also informed that the state government will start shrimp fish breeding centres at saltwater locations in Bhiwani district. He informed that 100 percent subsidy is being given on drip irrigation and micro-irrigation schemes by the Irrigation Department across 50 blocks of the state.

Agriculture Minister said that a Rs 20 lakh crore relief package from the Central Government has been sanctioned which will also benefit the farmers. He said that on the lines of Kisan Credit Card, landless farmers will be given Pashu Credit Card for animal husbandry, under which they will be able to take loans at concessional interest rates for sheep-goat and cow-buffalo rearing. He said that many schemes have been formulated by the government to encourage the farmers towards agriculture as well as horticulture and fish farming etc. He informed that the divisional office of Irrigation Department will be opened in Loharu town and a warehouse will be built on the vacant land in front of the new grain market of Bhiwani, which will have a capacity of about 20 thousand metric tonnes.
