Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare and Animal Husbandry Minister, Mr. J.P Dalal said that farmers’ interest is the priority of the State Government. Besides the Central Government, the Haryana Government has also implemented several schemes to make Agriculture and Farmer sector self-reliant. As a result of declaring the Minimum Support Price of crop every year before the sowing season, the area under crop cultivation has been steadily increasing in the country.
Mr. Dalal was presiding over a review meeting at PWD Rest House, Bhiwani with the officials of Bijli Nigam regarding pending agriculture tube well connections. He directed the officials that in view of the sowing season of Rabi crops, the Bijli Nigam should make a special programme to issue at least 200 connections every week and complete the target by October 31, 2020. In addition to this, new transformers should be installed with immediate effect wherever needed.
The Minister was apprised in the meeting that Bijli Nigam has 791 tube well connections pending in Loharu assembly constituency, on which the work is going on. Farmers would not face any problem during crop sowing. Additionally, there are plans to upgrade several 33 KV sub-stations. It has been approved by the Bijli Nigam to set up a High power sub-station at village Budhsheli, Bhiwani.
During the meeting with the officials, Mr. Dalal also called the contractors who have been working on power supply lines of new tube well connections. He also sought information from the contractors about the progress of the work being done by them.
