16 August 2019: Shri Giriraj Singh, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying and Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan, Union Minister of State of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying visited ICAR-National Research Centre on Equines, Hisar today.

Shri Giriraj Singh urged the scientists to be result-oriented, cater the neds of farmers and entrepreneurs, and be prepared to address the challenges ahead. Both the Ministers appreciated the efforts of the centre in surveillance and monitoring of equine diseases; development of diagnostics and vaccines; control of dreaded diseases like glander; EHV1 and Equine influenza.

On the occasion a patent certificate granted to ICAR on “Nano based drug delivery of quinapyramine sulphate” was also handed over to the team of scientists who invented the technology. The Ministers also released value added products made from donkey milk and visited Info-Equine Museum.

Dr B.N. Tripathi, Director, ICAR-NRCE briefed about the recent achievements and activities of the Institute. He informed about the interest of entrepreneurs in donkey milk to develop cosmetics and other products.
