Job Summary:
To support in Integrated Livestock Rearing (ILR) interventions in different PRADAN teams of Jharkhand. Under Integrated Livestock Rearing program, PRADAN promotes goat, indigenous bird and other small livestock rearing. S/he will be responsible for the overall operations of ILR interventions in multiple districts. S/he will provide guidance and technical support to the program teams in implementing and monitoring to ensure seamless operations of the intervention. The position requires travelling to the project areas.
Age limit: Upper age limit of 35 years
Key Role & Responsibilities:
Planning, Management & Project Implementation
•Responsible for project implementation and prototype establishment in the teams, developing work plans, tracking tasks, identifying and addressing gaps and for other activities required to fulfill program objectives and deliver results.
•Training, mentoring and providing feedback to community livestock workers (Pashu sakhi) for capacity building and performance management of all required parameters. Organize meeting with Para-vets/ Master trainers to review operations for the teams.
•Provide support required to troubleshoot issues at district/state level.
•Examine animals to detect and determine the nature of diseases or injuries. Organize animal health camp and practical demonstration at village level.
•Promote livestock producer groups and collectives.
Managing Marketing and Stakeholder Relationship Building
•Foster relationships with medicine companies and vendors to regulate the supply system
•Market linkages for the requirements of livestock inputs and promote livestock collectives for better linkages with market
•Extend support for collaboration with ARD and Govt. Depts.
Monitoring & Evaluation
•Support the teams regarding key performance indicators, ensure timely submission of monthly reports and timely update
•Work closely with the Team Coordinator & Executives
•Support in documenting best practices and developing plans to incorporate the learning’s
Qualification/Experience
•A minimum qualification of Bachelor of Veterinary Science (B.VSc.) from reputed organization is required
•Candidates having experience in similar areas will be given preference.

Position: It is a consultancy offer valid till June 2021, may extend on satisfactory performance and project extension.
