The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying had implemented a Centrally Sponsored Scheme on “Blue Revolution” Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries” for a period of five years between 2015-16 to 2019- 20 focuses mainly on increasing fisheries production and productivity in inland and marine sectors of the country.
The Blue Revolution Scheme with its multi dimensional activities provided financial assistance to various States/UTs you TS for overall Development of Fisheries in the country during the past five years. The state-wise funds released under the said Blue Revolution scheme by the Department of Fisheries during the last five years are furnished at Annexure- I. Besides, the entire Central share sanctioned to the State Governments of Assam and West Bengal under Blue Revolution scheme had been utilized by State Governments.
The year wise details of fish seed hatchery sanctioned under the erstwhile Blue Revolution scheme and ongoing PMMSY scheme between 2017- 18 2021- 22 are as under.

Under the erstwhile Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries a total of 250 nos fishermen houses sanctioned for Assam and 422 nos of fishermen houses were approved for West Bengal. Besides, the post harvest infrastructure facilities comprising 9 nos cold storage/ice plants, 16 nos refrigerates/ insulated vehicles, 10 nos live fish vending centers, 103 nos Motorcycle with ice box, 937 cycles with ice boxes and 185 numbers three Wheeler with ice box including E-rickshaw for fish vending approved for Assam.
Whereas, in case of West Bengal 2 nos of refrigerated/insulated vehicles and 50 nos of motorcycle with ice box approved during 2017 – 18 under Blue Revolution Scheme. However, the Government of West Bengal has not submitted any proposal since last three years. This information was given by Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Shri Parshottam Rupala in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
