ICMR is dealing with biomedical / health research in various areas, in collaboration with national / international agencies, through its Headquarters at New Delhi and 27 Institutes / Centres and a large number of field stations, situated across the country.

ICMR invites online applications up to 5th June, 2022 till 5:30 PM to fill up the followinq vacancies of Scientist-C in the Pay Level-11 67,700-Rs.2,08,700 (pre-revised Grade pay-Rs.6600/-) from Indian Citizens, for appointment on regular basis under Direct Recruitment, under Mission Mode Initiative to fill the vacancies:


Post with specialization: Scientist-C (Rodent breeding and experimentation)

No. of vacancies: 1 (one)

Essential Qualifications:

  1. BVSc & AH degree recognized by VCI
  2. Four years of R&D/Teaching/ working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector/Private Institution.

Desirable Qualifications: 

  1. MVSc in relevant discipline recognized by VCI
  2. Two years of experience in managing the similar animal facility in any Govt/Public Sector/Private
  3. Expertise in breeding, care and management of laboratory animals such as mice, rats, hamsters, Guinea pig, rabbits,
  4. Expertise in breeding and maintenance of Transgenic and Knockout animal colonies.
  5. Experience in pre-clinical toxicology

Post with specialization: Scientist-C (Non-human Primate Breeding and Experimentation)

Essential Qualifications: 

  1. BVSc & AH degree recognized by VCI
  2. Four years of R&D/Teaching/ working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector/Private Institution.

Desirable Qualifications: 

  1. MVSc in the relevant discipline recognized by VCI
  2. Two years of R&D/Teaching/ Working experience in laboratory animal breeding and experimentation including Non- human Primates in any Govt/ Public Sector/Private
  3. Experience in non-human primate facility management, care, breeding and
  4. Familiar with CPCSEA/GLP/ AAALAC guidelines.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. MVSc (Veterinary Pathology) degree recognized by VCI
  2. Two years of R&D/Teaching/ working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector/Private
  3. Experience in histopathology work in laboratory animals and
  4. Familiar with CPCSEA/GLP/ AAALAC guidelines.

Post with specialization: Scientist-C (Veterinary Biochemistry or Biotechnology)

No. of vacancies: 1 (one)

Essential Qualifications:

  1. BVSc & AH degree recognized by VCI
  2. Four years of R&D/Teaching/ working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector/Private Institution in relevant specialization.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. First Class Post Graduate Degree in Veterinary Biochemistry /
  2. Two years of R&D/Teaching/ working experience in a Govt/ Public Sector/Private
  3. Experience in biochemical analysis of samples and molecular biology
  4. Experience in laboratory animal handling, collection of samples and
  5. Familiar with CPCSEA/NABL guidelines

Note: Clinicians shall be encouraged to work with the local / Regional Medical Colleges through the Host Institute / Centre of ICMR and enter in to a MoU for clinical research/ trials / schemes.

Fee:

Application Fee of Rs. 1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) is required. SC/ ST/ Women/ PWD/ EWS candidates are exempted from application fee. Application Fee is to be paid by candidates, through online link, given in the application form. Application fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

How to apply:

    2. Separate application has to be submitted for each post/specialization, with required application fee.
    3. Following self-attested documents are required to be uploaded along with the application:-
      • Proof of Date of Birth
      • Educational qualifications

Note:

  1. Ph.D. will be considered as four years’ experience (irrespective of the duration taken to complete the degree)
  2. MD/MS/DNB will be considered as three years’ experience
  3. MVSc will be considered as Two years’ experience
  4. The crucial date for determining the age limit, shall be as per the guidelines of Department of Personnel and Training, GOI issued from time to However, the prescribed age may be relaxed in exceptional cases, for experienced and qualified candidates by the DG, ICMR.
  5. In case applicants are from Private Sector or Laboratories / Institutions abroad, the Screening Committee shall decide the equivalency of Pay Scale.

Other conditions:

Shortlistinq Criteria:

  1. The shortlisting is based on criteria fixed by
  2. In the first instance, all the candidates who fulfill minimum eligibility criteria, in respect of age, educational qualifications and experience, etc (wherever required), shall be short-listed.
  3. If the number of such shortlisted candidates are high and it is not possible to call all of them for interview, then the ICMR shall further shortlist the candidates, on the basis of some suitable shortlisting criteria, as may be fixed by the appointing authority e. DG, ICMR. Though this may vary from case to case, depending on merits, ICMR generally prefers to call candidates with higher experience in the relevant fields or candidates with higher educational qualification or both, as the case may be.

Note: The purpose of shortlisting candidates is to restrict, to a reasonable limit, the number of candidates to be called for interview, keeping in view the number of vacancies available at a time, the number of candidates satisfying the Essential Qualifications and other conditions prescribed. In order to rationalize the time of the interview Boards and also to reasonably restrict the number of

candidates to be called for interview, a set of norms have been adopted with the approval of the Competent Authority, which are indicated below:

For one vacancy Up to 12 Candidates
For 2-3 vacancy to 24 Candidates
For 4-6 vacancy to 36 Candidates
For 7-9 vacancy to 48 Candidates
For 10 vacancy and above Up to 50 Candidates or above (5 times the number of Pt)
