Dr. Kailash Uniyal, President of the Uttarakhand Veterinary Council, held a formal meeting today with Shri S.P. Baghel, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Government of India, and Dr. Umesh Chandra Sharma, President of the Veterinary Council of India.

The meeting, held in New Delhi, focused on several critical issues affecting the veterinary sector in Uttarakhand and across India. Key topics of discussion included advancements in veterinary education, improving healthcare infrastructure for livestock, and promoting sustainable practices in animal husbandry.

Dr. Uniyal highlighted the pressing needs and challenges faced by veterinarians in Uttarakhand, emphasizing the importance of government support in enhancing veterinary services and training programs. He also discussed potential collaborative initiatives with the central government to boost the welfare of livestock and ensure the prosperity of farmers dependent on animal husbandry.

Shri S.P. Baghel expressed the government’s commitment to supporting the veterinary profession and enhancing the sector’s capabilities through various schemes and initiatives. Dr Sharma assured that a meeting of all presidents from State Veterinary Council and Ragistrar will be organised soon to resolve all these issues.
