Department of Veterinary Medicine, College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Nagaland organized an awareness programme on “Emerging diseases of Livestock and Poultry in Nagaland” for Livestock and Poultry Farmers in Peren district of Nagaland” on 20th September, 2024 at the Veterinary Clinical Complex campus.

The programme coordinator Prof. Gunjan Das offered the welcome speech. He expressed about the significance of the topic for Livestock and Poultry farmers of this region. Dr. A. Palanisammi, Professor & Head, Department of VGO reiterated on the importance of such awareness programme and the benefit for the farmers.

Dr. I. Shakuntala, Dean of the college emphasized explained about the importance of emerging diseases and the knowledge to prevent them. She also expressed that, such type of awareness programme for the livestock and poultry farmers will also be organized in the future to sensitize the local farmers. Finally, Dr. Neithono Kuotsu, Programme co-coordinator offered vote of thanks.

In the technical session, topics on “Emerging diseases of Poultry in Nagaland” and “Emerging diseases of Livestock in Nagaland” were delivered by Dr. Keneisezo Kuotsu and Dr. Sashitola Ozukum, respectively. A total of 20 Livestock and Poultry farmers from New Jalukie village attended the programme.
