ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cattle celebrates 34th Foundation Day

The ICAR-Central Institute for Research on Cattle, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh virtually celebrated its 34th Foundation Day today.

In his inaugural address, appreciating the Institute’s efforts, Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & Director General (ICAR) urged for the Institute’s contributions’ monetization for enhancing the national milk production. The Director General suggested for organizing the Stakeholders’ Workshop to understand the specific requirements of the DADF and the State Governments and heads of the Gaushalas of the country. Dr. Mohapatra also launched the Institute’s New Website during the occasion.

Applauding the Institute’s efforts for evolving the Frieswal™ Breed of Cattle yielding 3,600 Kg of milk in 300 days, the Guest of Honor, Dr. B.N. Tripathi, Deputy Director General (Animal Science), ICAR urged to prepare a roadmap for adoption of the breed.

Earlier, in his welcome address, Dr. Abhijit Mitra, Director, ICAR-CIRC, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh briefed about the Institute’s achievements and its priority issues for meeting the future challenges faced by the country.

The Assistant Directors General of Animal Science Division, Directors of ICAR Institutes, Vice-Chancellors of State Agricultural Universities, Former Directors of ICAR-CIRC, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh and the Institute’s Staff Members also virtually participated in the event.
