Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta has been conferred the prestigious Fellowship of the Karnataka Science and Technology Academy 2020, Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. At a glittering function organized at KSTA on 2nd March, Dr. Bhatta received the Fellowship from Hon. Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka Dr. C.N. Ashwathnarayan, Padma Vibhushan Prof. K. Kasturirangan, former Chairman ISRO and the Chancellor of Central University of Rajasthan and NIIT University and Prof. S. Ayyappan, Chairman, KSTA, Bengaluru.
Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta is recipient of several research awards including the prestigious Sir CV Raman State Award from the Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology, Govt. of Karnataka, and Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Award for Outstanding Research in Agricultural Sciences, 2019 by ICAR.
Dr. Raghavendra Bhatta born at Uppoor, District Udupi, Karnataka, on 02 September 1965. Educated at University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, B.V.Sc. 1988; M.V.Sc. 1990 and Ph.D. 1998; Post-doctorate, National Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science, Japan, 2004-2006.
He is currently the Director of ICAR- National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology (NIANP), Bengaluru, Karnataka. Before, joining NIANP, he has served as Scientist, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar, 1993-1998; Scientist Senior Scale, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar, 1998-2002; Senior Scientist, ICAR-CSWRI, Avikanagar, 2002-03; Senior Scientist, ICAR- National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore, 2003-2008; Principal Scientist, ICAR- National Institute of Animal Nutrition and Physiology, Bangalore, 2009-14.
