Out of the Agricultural Universities in the country, Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar has bagged the first position in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation and Achievements released by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Meanwhile, it has been ranked third in the category of all state universities and government-aided universities.
University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Samar Singh said that the University has been able to achieve this as a result of efficient leadership along with far-sightedness, positive thinking and team spirit. He said that such achievements will continuously lead the university on the path of progress. The rank band was issued by the Union Ministry of Education, under the Chairmanship of Vice-President, Mr Venkaiah Naidu.
Sharing more details on it, Professor Samar Singh said the rankings released by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development for the year 2020 under the National Institutional Ranking Framework, the university’s Home Science College was ranked 49th nationwide and first in the state. It is noteworthy that for the first time the only Home Science College, Hisar was included in this list of Agricultural Universities.
He further added that the University is continuously moving ahead while following the criteria set by the State Government, the Central Government and the University Grants Commission. The ABIC Centre established in the University is the first in North India and the second in India which is promoting innovation, start-ups and entrepreneurship. Similarly, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Centre for Excellence in Organic Farming, Research Farm and many other centres are playing prominent roles in this field.
