Kissan mela organised at Doda village

As a part of the   fortnight activities, a Kisan Mela under “Kisan Pakhwada” was organised today here at Bhella village of Thathri Sub division by Agriculture department in collaboration with Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and other allied departments.
The event witnessed participation of over  200 farmers of the Bhela and Thathri areas. The Mela was inaugurated by the Chief Agriculture Officer, Mr Shahid Iqbal Sheikh.
The farmers were made aware about the benefits of KCC and PM Kisan schemes and the process for applying for the same.  KCC cards were also distributed among the beneficiaries.
All the participating departments installed stalls at the venue and highlighted   schemes being executed by them for the welfare of the farming community. The officers of the different departments gave a detail overview of the schemes and motivated the farmers to avail the benefits of KCC and PM KISAN.
The Chief Agriculture Officer, in presence of PRI members, asked the field functionaries of all the concerned departments to motivate the farmers to avail the KCC facility and to ensure cent percent saturation under the KCC scheme and PM kisan. He asked them to carry out   door to door campaign in this regard so that the aim and objectives of this ongoing Kissan Pakhwada are met in letter and spirit.
Among others present were CAHO, Sheep Husbandry officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Assistant Director Fisheries, Area Marketing Officer  besides other field functionaries.
